Hi - I’m Dr. Allyson Kellum, a Licensed Therapist + Boundaries Expert.

I specialize in empowering women to set healthy boundaries, prioritize themselves without guilt, and cultivate fulfilling relationships. Together, we'll navigate the journey of healing from past wounds, unlocking your inner strength, and creating a life filled with self-care, authenticity, and meaningful connections.

Outside of the therapy room, you can find me spending quality time with my little family (husband, daughter, and Joey my toy Yorkie), hiking, running, reading a book, hanging out with my close circle of friends, and doing all things self-care.

My Story

There's always healing to be done, but I've definitely come a long way.

Having an absent father really did a number on me. I struggled with feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness. I felt as though I had to be perfect to be “good enough.” I was codependent and anxiously attached in relationships. I struggled with trusting others because subconsciously I was afraid that they would abandon me just like my Dad did.

As I got older, studied to become a licensed therapist, and earned a Master's and Doctoral degree in social work, I recognized how much my abandonment trauma impacted me in all aspects of my life.

After my own therapy, I recovered from my own abandonment issues. My abandonment wounds are still triggered from time to time, but I now understand how to effectively cope and bring myself back to the present moment.

My mission is to help you learn how to do the same. By healing your abandonment wounds and re-discovering your worth, you’ll learn how to trust others and feel secure and empowered in your relationships.

My Approach

I strongly believe that YOU are the expert on you, which means, our work together will be collaborative. I will use evidence-based practices, such as eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Attachment-Based Therapy, Inner Child Work, and Reparenting techniques.

My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel empowered to process the tough stuff and also the victories you will experience while on your healing journey.
