Allyson Kellum Abandonment Therapist
therapy for abandonment issues

Welcome! I’m so glad that you’re here!

I’m Dr. Allyson Kellum, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who helps women navigate difficult family dynamics, break unhealthy relationship patterns, set boundaries without guilt, and reconnect with themselves.

Many of the women I work with are used to being the strong oneβ€”the one who keeps the peace, considers everyone else’s feelings, and holds everything together.

But somewhere along the way, their own needs got pushed aside.

Therapy with me isn’t about telling you who to cut off or convincing you to forgive someone who hurt you. It’s about helping you understand the patterns keeping you stuck and decide what healthier relationshipsβ€”with others and with yourselfβ€”look like for you.

Whether that means repairing a relationship, creating stronger boundaries, grieving what you wish a relationship could have been, or choosing to move forward differently, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

My Approach

My Approach

I believe that YOU are the expert on you.

My role isn't to tell you what decisions to make or how to live your life. Instead, we'll work together to understand the patterns that keep showing up, explore where they came from, and help you develop healthier ways of responding to the people and situations in your life.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and honest. I'll create space for you to process the hard stuff, celebrate your growth, and gently challenge you when the patterns you're trying to change start showing up.

Depending on your individual needs, I incorporate evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, mindfulness, inner-child work, and reparenting techniques.

Ultimately, my goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply, trust yourself more fully, and feel confident making choices that honor the life and relationships you want to create.
